Pedro Vidal Bavio Argentyna –
Argentina Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos
Aires Pedro Vidal Bavio was born
in San Pedro, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1981. He
got to know pinhole photography in 2005 when his interest on
photography in general was increasing significantly. That year he
started building pinhole cameras, mainly for 35mm and 120mm film but
also for photographic papers. The
results gave him an incentive to continue trying and investigating on that subject.
Because of that, he attended several photo courses such as „Curso
Básico de Fotografía en ByN” (Basic course in Black and White Photography) and „Seminario
de Visión y Composición” (Vision & Composition Seminar) at
Universidad de Buenos Aires, Primer Jornada de Fotografía Estenopeica
(First Pinhole Photography conference) at Universidad de Quilmes and
„Taller
de Fotografía Austera” (Austere Photography) at Centro Cultural
Lola Mora. In 2006
he participated for the first time in the Worldwide Pinhole
Photography Day, and he continued doing so every year since.
Some
of his work was published in the Mexican newspaper „ Reforma”
and in the Argentinian photo magazine „F:22”.
He exhibited his pictures at the
Museo Histórico Fotográfico de Quilmes and at Peña Fotográfica
Rosarina. He also exhibited his work along with Florencia Aguilar at
Casa de la Cultura de Merlo and at Centro Cultural Bento Silvério,
Florianópolis, Brasil. In 2009 he was part of the
„>Segundo
encuentro nacional de fotografía estenopeica” that took place
in the San Martín cultural center, CABA, Argentina, and its
exhibition that was taken to several other venues in Argentina and
Uruguay. Also that year, he
participated in III Ogólnopolski Festiwal Fotografii Otworkowej
(OFFO), where he had the chance to meet many great pinhole
photographers. In 2011 he
started studying the Professional Photographer career at Motivarte
school of photography.
